My view

Welcome to 'Bird's Eye View'!

When I was 18 my father handed me a Nikon and told me to get in the car. We drove through sleepy little Iowa towns and down winding gravel roads. He started me on what will be a life long journey of seeing the world through the lens of my camera.

To me photography is an art. The art of capturing a moment or a natural expression is what I love to do. I will give you direction and then find your personality within that pose.

What I see through my lens is no different than what you see every day - the only difference is I have the ability to stop time and provide you with those memories.

Contact me at katie (dot) reints (at) gmail (dot) com to inquire about a session.

second chance

I always walk away from the photos that I edit and come back a second day- usually with a fresh look at the photos and find something that the day before I simply scrolled right by. This time - this was one of those photos.

Yesterday I looked at it and thought - ugh, this is out of focus.

Today, I found so much beauty in the fact that it is out of focus.

I think that the lack of focus adds a bit of whimsy.....

Actually, all of these were my out takes last night as I was editing.

Today - they are the my favorites from the session! Which do you prefer? The Posed, or the un-posed natural photos?

I prefer unposed. But I love all of your shots from the session.

I have to step away and have a second look too. You just lose perspective after staring at the same photos for so long. I really like both styles, and I bet the family would like having some of both too!
