My view

Welcome to 'Bird's Eye View'!

When I was 18 my father handed me a Nikon and told me to get in the car. We drove through sleepy little Iowa towns and down winding gravel roads. He started me on what will be a life long journey of seeing the world through the lens of my camera.

To me photography is an art. The art of capturing a moment or a natural expression is what I love to do. I will give you direction and then find your personality within that pose.

What I see through my lens is no different than what you see every day - the only difference is I have the ability to stop time and provide you with those memories.

Contact me at katie (dot) reints (at) gmail (dot) com to inquire about a session.

Project 365: Day 86 Scavenger Hunt Sunday

Decay
The boys and I went to the old Train Depot in town yesterday. Everything about this place screams decay, however this was one of my favorite shots.

Things that make you go Hmmm
On one of my walks this week I came across these benches is the cemetery. This beckons the question, who may have sat here over the years?

Me Time
When I was a full time working mom my 'me-time' was always the drive to and from work. Without that time these past months I have slowly been going insane. No - not really- but I recently (since the warm up) have started to enjoy plugging in my iPod and walking... all my myself. With my camera of course.

Groups of three
I took a series of these shots in January- but since they are so easy to do, I just set it up again this morning. Though I think the ones previously turned out better... they are still fun shots to do!

In the Kitchen
Has anyone noticed yet the color theme I have going this week? Good gracious I am void of color...
The kitchen in my house is my favorite room.... but how boring is a picture of our Kitchen?
So... here is a Macro of our forks instead...

I actually noticed your lack of color. Too funny. That happens to me too.

I loved the colour theme this week throughout all the images and the decay shots were my favourites. Oh to be able to go to somewhere like that would just be a great way to spend an afternoon down by the tracks.

ALL fantastic shots! LOVE your decay shot & your dof. And those benches - yes, I do wonder how many people have sat in those throughout the years, and what their thoughts were.

Your decay shot is awesome. I love the deep contrast and masculinity of the shot. Also, I do the same thing with color. It seems like when I sit down to edit I'm in a certain mood and they turn out in similar ways. Great collection of captures.
